Ms. Debra Barr is in her 35th year of working with young people. This is her 17th year at GRAA, 6th as principal. She attended Union College where she received a Bachelor degree in English and Education; and St. Cloud State University where she received her Masters in Educational Administration.

Mr. Dale H. Vinton has been teaching for 12 years 7 of which took place at GRAA. He received a Bachelor degree in Chemistry from Atlantic Union College and a Masters in Teaching from Andrews University. He teaches physics and math classes in the academy as well as being the vice principal and maintaining the building.

 
Kindergarten/

Mrs. Yudelka Orosco has been teaching for 19 years and has been the kindergarten teacher here at GRAA for 14. She teaches Grades K-1. She graduated from Southwestern with a Bachelor degree in Education. Her masters in teaching is from Andrews University.

 
2nd/3rd Grade

Mrs. Karen Everett has been teaching for 17 years and has been at GRAA for 12. She teaches Grades 2-3. She graduated from Andrews University with a Bachelor of Science with an Elementary Education endorsement and an Associate’s degree in Foods and Nutrition.

Mrs. Brenda Mejeur has been teaching for 25 years, 21 at GRAA. She teaches Grade 3. In addition to teaching here, she attended GRJA for 8 years as a student. She attended Andrews University where she received Bachelor and Masters degrees in Elementary Education.

Mrs. Nancy Gooden has been teaching part time or full time for the last 22 years, 12 of them at GRAA. She teaches Grades 5-6. She attended Andrews University where she received a Bachelor degree in Language Arts and Grand Valley State University where she received her Masters of Education degree.

7th Grade

Mrs. Judy L. Shull has been a  teacher  for 28 years, 17 of them here at GRAA. She teaches Grade 7. She graduated from Andrews University where she received a Bachelor degree majoring in Elementary Education and History. She later received her Master’s degree in Elementary Administration and Supervision from Andrews as well.

     Mrs. Jeannie Leiterman has been teaching for 12 years and is in her 3rd year at GRAA. She graduated from Andrews University with a Bachelor degree in Education and a Masters degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to teaching the 8th grade, she is the elementary vice principal and sponsor of the yearbook. 
 
K-12 Music

Miss Kimberly Bulgin has been teaching for 3 years, 2 years at GRAA. She attended Andrews University where she received a Bachelor degree in Music Education. She taught at Jefferson Christian Academy in Texas before joining the GRAA staff. She teaches all music classes for the school as well as sponsoring the Class of 2013 and being part-time librarian.

Mr. Phillip Engelman has been teaching for 26 years and at GRAA for 7. He graduated from Pacific Union College with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Arts. He teaches high school history, technology, and biology as well as organizing mission and history trips and sponsoring the Class of 2012.

Mr. Hans Figueroa has been teaching for  8 years, and is in his 3rd year at GRAA. He attended Andrews University where he received a Bachelors degree in biology and a minor in chemistry. He has taught at Battle Creek Academy and at LaSierra Academy in California. He teaches high school science, Spanish, and PE as well as sponsoring the Class of 2014.

Mr. Delwin Garcia has been teaching for 5 years, all at GRAA. He attended Andrews University where he received his Bachelor degrees in English and Behavioral Science. He teaches high school English and Computers as well as sponsoring the  Student Association.

Mrs. Maria King is in her 2nd year of teaching here at GRAA. She received a Bachelor degree in Theology with a minor in Biblical languages and a Masters in Teaching from Walla Walla University. She teaches Bible, plans religious activities, and is the testing/guidance counselor and sponsor of the Class of 2011.

Mrs. Marilyn Leffler has been at GRAA as the administrative assistant to the principal for 20 years. She was a student at GRJA for 7 years before going to Cedar Lake Academy and then attending Andrews University. She now keeps things running smoothly in the office.

 

Mrs. Lynn Snelling has been the school’s treasurer for 8 years. She attended the College of Lake County.
