Welcome to the Grand Rapids Adventist Academy Music Department!!
We are happy that you are choosing to fulfill your music interests through band,choir and private lessons!
The GRAA Music Program is composed of the following:
- K-2 General Music
- 3,4 Recorders
- 5th Grade Beginning Band
- 6-8 Choir
- Cadet Band
- High School Band
- Witness
The music department is devoted to the study of music, vocal and instrumental techniques and ensemble skills. Students will be exposed to a variety of music litearture, including that of different styles and cultures.
Above all, music does not only exert cultural influence and provide enjoyment and recreation, but above all, it is a wonderful medium whereby man can praise and glorify his God. Repeatedly, scripture calls upon us to sing to the Lord: "Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp." (Psalm 147:7) The Christian teacher has many opportunities to develop this gift of music in the lives of children and direct this gift into God-pleasing channels.
